HOPE HEROES (CHARITIES EDITION)
HOPE HEROES (CHARITIES EDITION)
Each week we have been choosing Hope Heroes who are making a difference in your community. This week we are highlighting charities! We want to THANK YOU for all your submissions. It was so hard to choose just one….. so we’ve chosen four!
We want to show you a variety of organizations that you- our loyal customers - support.
We are excited to introduce to you our Hope Hero Charities:
The Legacy Center
The Legacy Center is a New York City based nonprofit that goals to move people forward to achieve their ultimate potential. They have committed to serving its neighbors and surrounding community through acts of compassion, justice, community service and intentional leadership development. The Legacy Center fights to see individuals live life on purpose, take every step with intention, and create a Legacy that their kids will want to copy.
NYC has 1.2 million people facing hunger every year! The Legacy Center has taken action and created a Marketplace which opens its doors weekly and provides groceries & fresh produce to families / individuals in need. Since this pandemic over 46 food pantries have closed in NYC, and in order to continue providing needed services The Legacy Center has taken the Marketplace on the road with grocery drop offs to vulnerable individuals feeding them on a weekly basis. We want to celebrate all the volunteers, staff members, and partnering charities that have made an impact on hundreds these past few weeks.
Want to get involved? Partner With Them either as a volunteer or a donor and make a difference today!
Calm Zone
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and the cause of 18 deaths every day.
A powerful tool that CALM has created is their Helpline. You can ring in or webchat 7 hours a day, 7 days a week whenever you need to chat through what’s going on in your life. They also support those who have suffered a loss because of suicide, through the Support After Suicide Partnership (SASP).
Their goal is to support everyone in the process from parents, siblings, partners, friends and colleagues. They are equipping people in different places as well, universities, pubs, clubs and prisons across the country. You name it and they are there! They want people to be empowered to share their stories and get help before they reach that crisis point.
They believe everyone has a part to play and they partner with brands and ambassadors such as Arlo Parks, Top Man, and Dave TV to spread awareness of suicide and its devastating impact. They use many special projects to break boring male stereotypes and encourage positive behavioural change and help-seeking behaviour, using cultural touch points like art, music, sport and comedy.
We loved hearing about this charity and the fun ways they inspire hope and awareness. Check out their CALM Comedy Club live on Twitter!
Everyone Matters Fund
Coming in for such a time as this Everyone Matters Fund started through Freedom Church in Cape Town, they saw the need during this pandemic and they rose to the occasion.
The Everyone Matters Fund has been set up to provide financial support to people impacted by coronavirus, who have limited or no other help available to them.
The Everyone Matters Fund is making four types of financial grant:
- Cash payments, where income has been lost
- Financial support, to buy food and other essentials
- Funding for medical treatment, so people can get the care they need
- If there are other pressing, financial needs, we’ll consider supporting these too
They are helping parts of the world where the government is unable to assist their people with the support and financial stability.
Way to come in and start a movement to save people in their greatest time of need! This is the way to take a risk and jump right into serving communities!

Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is a research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom. Through their research they aim to reduce the number of deaths from cancer. As the world's largest independent cancer research charity it conducts research into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease. CR_UK is carried out in institutes, universities and hospitals across the UK. They also provide information about cancer and run campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the disease and influencing public policy.
Due to this pandemic people with cancer and their families might feel especially worried about the coronavirus virus outbreak. Cancer and its treatment can lower your ability to fight infection. So people with cancer are among those at higher risk of complications. Cancer Research UK has joined forces with coronavirus relief. They have taken it upon themselves to inform the public with best methods of staying safe during this time especially if you're high risk. We want to highlight all the inspiring awareness stories they feature on their media platforms @CR_UK , through these first hand accounts we are able to see the importance of Cancer Research and how many lives it's impacting on a yearly basis.
